YOUR REAL BRAND…
I’m writing this from an RV touring across Canada playing for my friend and artist, Max McNown. It’s been a fantastic tour and seeing so much of Canada has been amazing.
As you can imagine, as a band, we really get to know each other over the course of a tour. This tour is 10 shows in 17 days and that’s a lot of time together. Each of us are really unique. We have different habits, rhythms, likes, dislikes, fashion sense, music tastes, food preferences, etc…
As creative people we sometimes thrive on our uniqueness. You’ve probably heard this before or even said it yourself. But when someone does something, says something, wears something, etc… that is uniquely them, we say that’s “on brand” for them.
What we mean is, that is something we would expect that person to uniquely do, say, wear, listen to, etc… Those things certainly make us unique, but at the end of the day those things aren’t what we really want to be known for.
As unique as this musical fam is, what makes each person truly valuable, different, and what really creates their unique “brand” is how they uniquely treat other people.
Everyone in our camp is uniquely kind, uniquely generous, and they contribute uniquely to the greater vision of Max’s career. They’re also uniquely encouraging and uniquely joyful.
What you say, do, prefer, and even create that is uniquely you is really important, but what’s most important, what is truly your personal “brand” is how you uniquely treat other people.
Maybe grab some time to think about that for yourself or even your business, team, etc… how do people experience you?
That is the real foundation of your brand.

MY⚡️Finds
cool stuff I found this month
Hat Case
I love wearing baseball caps, but they’re hard to pack in a way that they don’t get crushed and mess up their form. I found this great hat case on Amazon that I’m traveling with now and it protects them super well and fits easily in my suitcase. Check it out here.
Chrome Industries
For months I searched for the right cross body bag for travel. I wanted it to have a vibe and go with a lot of clothes, but also be small and super functional. I found everything I was looking for in a company called Chrome Industries. Here’s a link to the one I got, but they have a load of options.
MY⚡️Favorites
some of my favorite sights, sounds, and reads
Sunheist Sunglasses
Sunheist are my favorite sunglasses on the planet. They’re super cool, durable, and high quality. The owner, Shane, is an incredible guy and really wants people to enjoy living their best life in these glasses. Please check out their website and find something that you love! sunheist.com
Gatorlyte ZERO
Yall… hear me out. Traveling, working out, singing… all of these things keep me dehydrated. It doesn’t help that I drink so much coffee. So in order to stay hydrated I drink the lemon lime Gatorade Gatorlyte Zero all the time. It tastes great and absolutely does the job. Grab one at a convenient store near you!
