Dreaming awake
How long has it been since you had a creative dream?

I run quite a bit and I really enjoy it. I know most people hate running, but I think more than the act of running itself, I just love that it gives me to opportunity to get lost in my thoughts and more importantly my dreams… my creative dreams. The crazy dreams I have about winning a grammy, hanging up a platinum plaque in my office, meeting my heroes, or better yet playing alongside my heroes.

I talk with people on almost a daily basis about taking practical steps, strategic planning, and building rhythms into our lives that help us reach our creative goals. Being organized and planning is important, but so is dreaming and just as we can become unorganized in the busyness of life we can also neglect our creative dreaming.

Don’t let the comfort or discomfort of your current situation keep you from dreaming your wildest dreams. Don’t let the people in your life keep you from dreaming your wildest dreams. Don’t let your past keep you from dreaming your wildest dreams. Don’t let your age keep you from dreaming your wildest dreams. Don’t let anything keep you from dreaming your wildest dreams.

Your wildest creative dreams can so easily awaken the confidence that you need to simply take the next step in your journey.

Plan well, work hard, and don’t neglect the dreaming.

MY⚡️Finds

cool stuff I found this week

Music I Want My Kids To Know
MIWMKTK is a super cool business I discovered on instagram that publishes unique journals for the purpose of passing down your love for music to the next generation. One of the reasons that I collect vinyl is so that I have a way to pass the music I love on to my kids. I love what MIWMKTK is doing! Check them out HERE.

A Pelican Alternative
If you’re in production work, music, photography, videography, or traveling or touring of any kind you’ve likely heard of Pelican Cases. They are an incredible company, but can get a little pricey. I recently discovered Pelican style cases sold by Harbor Freight that are compete in quality, but for a fraction of the price. Check them out here.

MY⚡️Favorites

some of my favorite sights, sounds, and reads

I Still Use Pens
So I still use pens on a regular basis and yes I actually have a favorite. I find most people don’t care about what pen they use, but the people who do care have a strong opinion… I am one of those people 🙂 . I use these Sharpie Gel pens that I buy on amazon. If you’re a pen person, grab some here.

Squarespace
You probably know about this, but sometimes it’s the obvious things that I forget to share. Squarespace is my favorite website builder out there and I have tried several. My personal site (leetbaker.com), my podcast site, (myfipodcast.com), and my coaching site (myficoaching.com), are all built on the platform.
